Dream again.

You matter. Your dreams matter. And no amount of fear-mongering about AI taking over the creative spaces makes it otherwise. You were created to build, to make, and to imagine. In a world of formulaic writing, find your voice again—unique to you, and beautifully so.

Awaken.

In a world of writing boot camps and empty publishing promises, have we lost our love for writing for writing’s sake? The Writer’s Workshop is a place to dream again, to reignite your love for the arts again, it’s a place to quiet the noise and find your voice.

“The world wants to silence your true voice. It wants to make you sound like everyone else. But it didn’t count on you resisting. It didn’t count on your grit. It didn’t count that you’d show up and breathe your dreams into reality.”

— Timothy D. Willard

If you find yourself asking yourself (and your friends), "Am I really a writer? Am I really an artist?" chances are you are. The counterfeit innovator is wildly self-confident. The real one is scared to death.”

— Steven Pressfield, The War of Art

Welcome to my workshop. I’m Tim, and I’m a writer. But I’m also an artist, songwriter, theologian, teacher, coach, husband, father, and friend. The Writer’s Workshop? Well, it’s my workshop. And right now, I’m opening the door for. you to walk inside and work together.

I’ve worked professionally as a writer, creative consultant, and editor for 16 years. I’ve also taught at churches, universities, conferences, and I’ve coached varsity women’s volleyball. And in all these different avenues of work, do you know what I’ve found?

I’ve found that many of the core principles in writing, in performing, in art, in teaching, and in coaching, apply universally. Every person was designed by God to use creativity in their daily lives. So, though I teach concepts in writing, and in identity (theology), and in how to be a great volleyball player, the core message is the same.

Who are you? What is your voice?

You walk a creative path. Along that path you find obstacles, you find deserts, wildernesses, and you find mountain tops. There are core principles that every person needs to learn in order to navigate their creative path. Chief among them is finding your voice.

Who are you? Do you know?

That’s what I teach on this website and online community.
